This failure compromised patient data, the plaintiffs allege.

Navvis and SSM Health are two healthcare companies which work in partnership.

Together, they offer medical services in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.

The lawsuit alleges that together they failed to prevent a ransomware data breach that ended up with patient data ending up in the wrong hands.

Plaintiffs say the companies could have prevented this with proper cybersecurity measures.

The firms are not admitting any wrongdoing through the settlement – choosing instead to settle out of court.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members can get cash to reimburse out-of-pocket expenses and “extraordinary” losses.

They can receive up to $2,000 for the regular losses – such as bank fees, communication charges, travel expenses and credit monitoring fees.

Those who suffered “extraordinary” losses can claim back up to $5,000.

All class members will also be eligible for pro rata cash payment.

The size of these will depend on the total number of claims filed within the settlement.

No estimates are available yet for how large they would be.

In addition, all will qualify for two years of free credit monitoring services.

In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by July 7, 2025.

The final approval hearing is scheduled for July 10, 2025.

Meanwhile, drivers could miss out on a direct payout from an insurance company settlement if they don’t act fast.

Just filling out a simple form could secure a payment, but only if you move before July 7.
