A HISTORIC golf course, which was established 68 years ago, has been sold for a hefty fee.
The Club at New Seabury on Cape Cod is a 300-acre golf and beach club on the Nantucket Sound in Massachusetts that includes two golf courses, a tennis facility, hiking and biking trails.
And it’s based near one of pop star Taylor Swift‘s various properties.
Private-equity-backed Concert Golf Partners have acquired the property following a staggering $60million purchase.
The company’s record-breaking deal increases their portfolio to 39 clubs across the US.
And it is more than double the size of their next-largest acquisition, according to senior vice president Jordan Peace.
Peace told Front Office Sports: "We have no desire to be the biggest.
"We do want to be the best, and what the best means is the right clubs for us.
"We have been, for the last two-and-a-half years or so, elevating our portfolio.
"Our members do not, and never will, notice who our investors are in the background.
"Our leadership team is incredibly strong; they know how to operate premium private clubs."
And Concert Golf Partners are not planning on slowing down any time soon.
Peace insists the company has a "large, multimillion-dollar capital plan within the next few years" to add to the club, even though it is already "healthy and thriving."
