Can it be called homophobia if it's your own wrist? During a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, when asked what role he would re-do if he could, Gosling named specifically the moment in La La Landthat ended up as the poster, when he and Emma Stone are doing their little dance with arms outstretched. Gosling, it turns out, does not like that he chose to bend his wrist instead of following the line of his arm, leading to an angle that "killed the energy." Of course, the bent wrist is the universal signifier of being gay (just ask Cate Blanchett), and Gosling's gay little wrist was a piece of representation that mattered. He then goes on to call it his "La La Hand," which is just rubbing salt in the wound, like something a southern aunt would say about her young gay nephew. Vulture has reached out to the gay little wrist for comment. As for Gosling, there's only one way he can make it up to the queer community — star in Joel Kim Booster's next movie.
