Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt NOT "Caught Planning Secret Reunion," Despite Report

(Getty Images) A report claiming Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were “caught planning a secret reunion” is not true. This rumor, which started in the tabloids, is now spreading online. Gossip Cop can once again bust it. As Gossip Cop reported, this week’s issue of Star falsely announced an “Aspen reunion” for Aniston and Pitt. The gossip magazine made-up a cover story about the former spouses secretly planning to vacation together in Colorado. A rep for Aniston exclusively told Gossip Cop, “It’s just all another fabrication with no relationship to reality or the truth.” Pitt’s spokesperson also confirmed to us the tale was 100 percent untrue. That was on Wednesday. Now on Saturday, The Inquisitr is picking up the debunked claims and alleging that the only reason Aniston recently went to Mexico with husband Justin Theroux is because she was “caught planning a secret reunion with Brad Pitt at a luxurious ski destination in the United States.” Contends the site, “While Aniston’s marriage with Theroux is reportedly on thin ice, the blonde beauty and the Fight Club star reportedly planned to secretly meet up.” “The timing couldn’t be more perfect since there have been reports coming out that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are on the verge of getting a divorce,” the outlet further asserts. The online publication actually attributes this misinformation to New Idea, which is an Australian tabloid. But all the alleged details are originally from Star. That said, the U.S. gossip magazine apparently got the idea for this narrative after a different Aussie tabloid, NW, concocted its own cover story last month about Aniston and Pitt planning to be “reunited” in Aspen for the holidays. Of course, that holiday reunion never happened and was never actually in the works. Similarly, a January reunion in Aspen is not going to happen and was never really in the works. As People reported at the time of Pitt’s birthday last month, the actor is dating and moving on from his marriage to Angelina Jolie. But he is not rekindling his relationship with his ex-wife. And Aniston remains completely committed to Theroux. They are not “on the verge of getting a divorce.” The Inquisitr also regurgitated this week’s other tabloid cover story about the former couple, which falsely claimed Pitt asked Aniston to marry him again. In both that case and this one, the blog ran the erroneous allegations after their reps provided on-the-record comments disputing the claims. It’s very disappointing to see fiction peddled over the readily available truth. { "@context": "", "@type": "ClaimReview", "datePublished": "2018-01-06 15:31:33 UTC", "url": "", "author": { "@type": "Organization", "url": "" }, "claimReviewed": "Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were caught planning a secret reunion.", "reviewRating": { "@type": "Rating", "ratingValue": "1", "alternateName": "0", "worstRating": "1", "bestRating": "11", "image" : "" }, "itemReviewed": { "@type": "CreativeWork", "author": { "@type": "Person", "name": "The Inquisitr", "jobTitle": "Website", "image": "", "sameAs": [""] }, "datePublished": "2018-01-06", "name": "" } }
