According to Sacnilk, the film earned $155,822 on May 2, 2024, from theatres across the country This brings the film’s net collection in India to $503,490. However, it is essential to note that these figures are based on early estimates and are subject to change by the end of the day. Additionally, the film achieved an overall occupancy rate of 26.08% on the second day.

In a recent talk with Film Companion, director Dijo Jose revealed how they chose Nivin for the lead role. He said, "Nivin was doing mostly serious roles back-to-back, and I was craving to see his comedic side again. Even when we were narrating the script to him, I could see him sitting and laughing at each scene with a childlike glee. So, I understood it was working for him as a comedy and he instantly agreed to do it."

As of now, Malayalee From India has just started its box office run. It will be intriguing to see how much the movie will earn in its first week.
