Nick Jonas Talks Brother Joe and Sophie Turner — and Whether He's Ready to Settle Down
The Jonas family has a new addition to the holiday festivities this year — and Nick Jonas is excited. The family is welcoming Sophie Turner into their tight-knit unit after Joe Jonas proposed to the Game of Thrones actress last month."It's been really great," Jonas told PEOPLE last week before his concert aboard the Carnival Liberty ship. "They're a perfect fit — I'm really happy for them."But now that older brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas are settled down, does this make him want to start looking for his happy ending?"That's the goal eventually," Jonas admitted. "I'm certainly in no rush. I think right now the focus is on diving in and being as busy as I can be, but eventually I'm looking at a family."And he's definitely keeping busy. The actor and singer took the famous saying "work hard, play hard" to heart last week when he gave fans the treat of a lifetime while performing aboard the Carnival Liberty ship during the latest Carnival Live Series. Jonas got to hang out in the Bahamas as he performed back-to-back nights for some of his biggest fans."Any chance I get to place a show for a more intimate crowd is a great thing. It was just a really fun time on the boat celebrating with fans," said Jonas, who added that he'd never been on a cruise before. "When I was 9 I was on a Broadway show and my family went on a cruise but I couldn't 'cause I was working. So I'm redeeming myself with this two-day work trip."It was also a special time for Jonas as he got to meet a family who won a sweepstakes to be there through his Beyond Type 1 diabetes foundation."We had a sweepstakes winner through Beyond Type 1 and it's just incredible to be able to create these unique experiences for fans who are less fortunate and hopefully bring them joy," he said. The Jumanji actor is already looking forward to the holidays and getting to spend some downtime with his family after a busy year."For the holidays I just try to have some quiet time," Jonas said. "I'm very busy these days, running a million miles a minute, so I think as much downtime as I can get with the family is important to me."And two of the most important family members he'll get to spend time with are his Kevin's daughters Alena Rose, 3, and Valentina Angelina, 13 months. Jonas admits that having the little girls around brings another source of happiness for the close family."It adds a whole other element of excitement to everything when you have two young people like that," he said. "Christmas and Thanksgiving and all the holidays are very exciting to them. It's nice to have that energy mixed in as we all get older."
